Patna(The Uttam Hindu): In a high-intensity crackdown on corruption, the Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) on Friday carried out simultaneous raids on multiple premises linked to DSP Sanjeev Kumar, posted in Jehanabad. The operation, spanning Patna, Khagaria, and Jehanabad, was launched in connection with a disproportionate assets case involving nearly ₹1.52 crore in unexplained wealth.

The case, filed under multiple sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, alleges that Kumar amassed assets far exceeding his legal income. Acting on a court-issued search warrant, vigilance teams swooped in at dawn, conducting coordinated searches at his residences and other properties.

Though official confirmation on seizures is yet to be released, sources indicate the probe is part of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption. The SVU has been actively targeting bureaucrats, officials, and political leaders, with a mandate that all must declare their annual income and its legitimate sources.
