Chandigarh/Himachal Pradesh (The Uttam Hindu): Former Union Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) from the Hamirpur Lok Sabha constituency, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, participated in Jhankaar – The Presidential Fest. This event was organized at Punjab University to celebrate the historic victory of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Amidst the cultural program, Shri Thakur encouraged the young attendees, engaged in a dialogue with them, and delivered a message urging the youth to remain deeply connected to Indian folk culture and traditions.

Shri Anurag Singh Thakur stated, "Whether it is Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, or Uttarakhand—we are all the 'Saptasindhu' of Mother India. Be it Giddha, Bhangra, Nati, or Uttarakhand's Chholiya and Pandav dances—all of these constitute an integral part of that magnificent Saptasindhu culture. India's strength lies in its diverse culture and traditions. Such cultural programs serve to connect the youth with their roots and provide them with the opportunity to understand the country's rich cultural heritage. Mutual dialogue among the nation's youth—whether in the realms of culture, politics, or parliamentary traditions—is an auspicious sign. Furthermore, the 'Developed India' (Viksit Bharat) that we speak of today cannot be realized without the active participation of its youth."

Shri Anurag Singh Thakur added, "It is Modiji's resolve to bring one lakh capable young individuals into the active political sphere of the country. I firmly believe that all of you here should aspire to be among those one lakh youth, for you possess the vision, the mission, and the dedication required for the task. I, too, have launched a leadership and fellowship training program for the youth of Himachal Pradesh titled 'Yuva Changemaker' (Youth Changemaker), which has already garnered over 10,000 registrations to date. We will provide comprehensive leadership training to all those young individuals who are selected for this program.

This initiative forms part of a larger objective aimed at safeguarding the interests of Himachal Pradesh—to ensure that the youth of Himachal define the narrative of the state's development and step forward to assume leadership roles."

During the event, several traditional performances showcasing the vibrant culture of Himachal Pradesh were also presented. These included the Himachali Nati, Sirmauri Nati, and Kinnauri Nati, as well as Ladakhi and Manipuri dances. Colorful traditional costumes and folk melodies further enhanced the charm of the atmosphere. On this occasion, Mr. Sudhir Sharma, MLA from Dharamshala, was also present as a distinguished guest. The event was organized in collaboration with the ABVP and the Panjab University Campus Students Council.
