20-Year mystery: Woman unknowingly carries bullet, boil bursts to reveal surprising secret

Faridabad (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking case has come to light in Dabua Colony of Faridabad in Haryana, where 32-year-old Kavita never realized that she was carrying an SLR bullet inside her body since the age of 12.

Two months ago, Kavita felt a boil forming on her thigh. Initially, home remedies didn't help, but when the boil burst, a bullet emerged. The entire family was stunned by this incident, as the bullet was from an SLR rifle, and doctors even identified it.

When asked, Kavita explained that when she was 12 years old, she was struck by a sharp object on her lower body while taking a test on the school grounds near the army camp. At the time, she didn't realize it could be a bullet. The teacher dismissed it as a minor injury and sent Kavita home. At that time, her family applied a paste of turmeric and oil to the wound at home. The wound healed after some time. She never faced any problems for 20 years.

Doctors say that a bullet can remain inside the body, especially when its speed is low. Cells form a wall around the bullet, preventing it from harming the rest of the body. Over time, this wall can break down, allowing the bullet to escape, as happened in Kavita's case.

Kavita's husband, Pradeep, said that the bullet's removal after so many years is remarkable. She had never felt any pain before, nor had it been noticed. The bullet came out on its own without surgery. Doctors said Kavita is now fine. Kavita said she will keep the bullet safe, as people are coming to see it.
