Age No Barrier: 90-Year-Old Mother Becomes Lawyer for Son's Defense

Beijing (The Uttam Hindu): An example of mother's love and determination has emerged from China, which has surprised everyone. Here a 90-year-old mother has become a lawyer herself to get justice for her son who is in jail. At this age, she completed complex legal studies and now she is ready to cross-examine her 57-year-old son in court.

What is the whole case?

This case is related to 57-year-old Lin, who was arrested in April 2023 for blackmailing a rich businessman Huang and extorting about Rs 142 crore (12.3 million yuan). Businessman Huang's name was included in the list of 100 richest people in China in 2009 with a net worth of 800 crore yuan.

According to reports, Lin and Huang were partners in a gas production business. It is alleged that Huang often did not pay Lin on time, due to which Lin's gas production factory was locked and he was financially ruined.

It is being said that angry with the collapse of his business, Lin threatened to make public the financial irregularities of his former partner Huang's company between 2014 and 2017. On the basis of this threat, he forced Huang to pay Rs 142 crore. Many years later, in 2023, businessman Huang filed a complaint of extortion against Lin with the police, after which Lin was arrested.

Seeing her son behind bars, the 90-year-old mother did not give up. She showed faith in the justice system and took up law books herself and set an example by becoming a lawyer at this age. Now she will present arguments in favor of her son in court. This incident has caught people's attention on social media and the mother's indomitable courage is being greatly appreciated.
