New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) Technical glitches in Air India aircraft are on the rise. Following the deadly Ahmedabad plane crash, the airline has become more alert and has begun inspecting all of its aircraft thoroughly. As part of this, two Air India planes faced issues on Sunday, causing major inconvenience to passengers.

A Delhi-to-Kochi Air India flight was forced to make an emergency landing at Trivandrum Airport due to fuel shortage. According to officials, the landing was carried out safely, and after refueling, the aircraft proceeded to Kochi.

On the same day, another Air India flight that had just arrived in Trivandrum from Delhi suffered a bird-hit incident. The pilot informed the control tower before landing. Although the landing was successful, the aircraft was not cleared for return due to a pending formal inspection, and hence, the return flight to Delhi was cancelled, leaving passengers stranded.

It is worth noting that on June 12, an Air India flight from Ahmedabad to London crashed, resulting in the deaths of over 270 people including 241 passengers, and the death toll may reach 300. Since then, Air India has launched a full-scale technical audit of its fleet, uncovering numerous flaws and lapses.

According to Air India spokespersons, all aircraft are now undergoing thorough inspections and will only be cleared for flight after necessary repairs. This has also resulted in the cancellation of several flights in recent days.
