Beant Singh State Technical University Gurdaspur Welcomes New Vice Chancellor

Gurdaspur (The Uttam Hindu) :  In a significant academic development, Dr. S.K. Mishra, a distinguished academician and accomplished administrator, officially assumed office as the new Vice Chancellor of Sardar Beant Singh State University (SBSSU), Gurdaspur. Dr. Mishra is an alumnus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B), and brings with him a wealth of administrative and academic experience. Before his appointment to SBSSU, Dr. Mishra served as the Registrar of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU), Kapurthala, where he played a key role in streamlining administrative processes and promoting academic excellence.

In his maiden address to the university community, Dr. Mishra extended heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency the Governor of Punjab and Chancellor of the University, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria ji, the Government of Punjab, especially Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Mann ji, and Hon’ble Minister of Technical Education Shri Harjot Singh Bains ji, for reposing trust in his leadership and bestowing upon him the responsibility to guide SBSSU towards academic and institutional growth.

Vision for SBSSU: A Model Institution of Higher Learning

Dr. Mishra laid out a forward-thinking vision for the university, aiming to transform SBSSU into a model institution of higher education in Punjab, with an eye on establishing its presence on both national and global platforms. He stressed the need for academic innovation, quality research, and entrepreneurship as the pillars of the university's future growth. Dr. Mishra urged all Deans, Heads of Departments, and department in-charges to actively promote research, innovation, and startup culture within their respective domains. He emphasized that such initiatives are crucial in equipping students with relevant skills and enhancing their employability in a competitive job market.
