Big Breaking: All IAS/PCS Officers' Leaves Cancelled Amid National Emergency Measures

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): In light of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Punjab government has cancelled all previously sanctioned leaves for IAS and PCS officers with immediate effect. An urgent directive was issued by the Personnel Department (IAS Branch) on Friday, stating that no officer will be permitted to take any form of leave or leave their place of posting without the express written approval of the Chief Secretary of Punjab.

The government has also cautioned that any officer found violating the order may face strict disciplinary action as per service conduct rules. This move comes as part of heightened administrative preparedness and ensures that the state’s bureaucratic machinery remains fully operational during the ongoing national security situation.

Officials have been instructed to remain available round the clock and to stay within their jurisdiction unless otherwise directed.
