Big Relief for Devotees: Mata Vaishno Devi Services Restored After Temporary Suspension
Katra (The Uttam Hindu): The helicopter service from Katra to Sanjichhat near Mata Vaishno Devi temple has finally resumed after a seven-day suspension, bringing major relief to thousands of pilgrims. The service was halted due to airspace restrictions implemented across the country under Operation Sindoor, launched by the Government of India amid heightened tensions with Pakistan.
During the suspension, devotees had to undertake the challenging climb on foot, facing significant inconvenience. However, with the easing of the situation between India and Pakistan, the authorities have now restarted the chopper service from Wednesday.
Officials confirmed that the helicopter operations will now continue as usual, with tight security arrangements in place. The direct air route from Katra to Sanjichhat, which facilitates smooth access for elderly and specially-abled pilgrims, is once again functional, allowing devotees to have hassle-free darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi.
The resumption of the service has brought visible joy and relief among the pilgrims arriving at Katra.
