Big Update on Chardham Yatra Amid India-Pakistan Tension; Government Issues Fresh Order
Dehradun (The Uttam Hindu): All helicopter services going to Baba Kedarnath under the Chardham Yatra have been stopped. All heli services have been stopped till further orders. The Uttarakhand government has also issued an order in this regard.
According to the order of the Uttarakhand government, all helicopter services of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, Yamunotri are closed. These services will remain closed till further orders. The step to stop heli services during the Chardham Yatra has been taken at a time when tensions between India and Pakistan are constantly increasing on the border. There are continuous attacks on Indian territories from Pakistan, to which the Indian Army is giving a befitting reply. Earlier, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a high-level meeting with officials.
CM Pushkar Dhami shared the photo on Instagram and wrote, "In view of the strict action being taken by India against terrorism, a high-level meeting was held in the Secretariat and the concerned officials were instructed to be fully prepared for every situation and to exercise special vigilance in the border areas as well as keep the administrative units deployed there alert. Instructions were given to ensure the availability of adequate life-saving medicines, surgical equipment and other necessary medical resources in all the hospitals of the state."
He said, "The Food and Civil Supplies Department has been directed to ensure the supply of essential food items, ration and drinking water in the state. At the same time, relief and rescue teams have also been kept ready, so that prompt action can be taken if required. During the meeting, the Information Department was instructed to play an active role to avoid rumors and provide timely information to the public. For our government, the safety of the God-like public is paramount and we are ready to deal with any kind of emergency."
