CCS to Meet Tomorrow at 11 AM Under PM Modi’s Leadership to Discuss Action Against Pakistan
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) will meet on Wednesday at 11 am under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This meeting has been called in the context of the Pahalgam attack. Apart from this, a meeting of the Union Cabinet is also proposed on Wednesday. The CCS includes Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
Earlier, in the CCS meeting held on 23 April, the day after the Pahalgam attack, several steps were taken against the neighboring country Pakistan. The Indian government had decided to suspend the Indus Water Treaty. Along with this, Pakistani citizens were also ordered to leave the country. It was made clear in the meeting that if Pakistani citizens do not leave the country within the stipulated time, strict action will be taken against them. After this order of the government, the process of Pakistani citizens leaving the country is continuing.
In the CCS meeting, the central government had also decided to reduce its diplomatic relations with Pakistan, under which it was also decided to reduce the number of employees in the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi from 55 to 30. After this, many employees of the Pakistani High Commission have left the country. At the same time, the central government has also banned several Pakistani YouTube channels against the Pahalgam attack. The Resistance Front of Lashkar-e-Taiba has taken responsibility for the attack on 22 April in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. 26 tourists were brutally killed in this attack. After the Pahalgam attack, the security forces have intensified the campaign against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, the Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to close 48 tourist places.
