Driver Dozes Off, Car Slams Into Truck—5 Killed in Fatal Mishap

Orai (The Uttam Hindu): 5 people died on the spot and 3 were seriously injured in a tragic road accident near Somai Girthan in Orai on Wednesday morning on Jhansi- Kanpur highway. The accident happened when the car driver dozed off and the car climbed the divider and reached the other lane. A truck coming from the front hit it hard.

Tragic accident: Car broke the divider and collided with a truck, 5 dead-3 injured; accident happened due to driver dozing off: The deceased include Brajesh, Preeti, Sangeeta, Siddika and Attu. Meanwhile, Ankit, Manvi and Manda have been admitted to the medical college in critical condition. According to the information, all the people were going to Bengaluru from Ikdhara village of Bahraich district in a car. As soon as the car reached Somai Girthan village near Bundelkhand Expressway, the driver Brajesh dozed off. The car crossed the divider and reached the other side and collided with the truck coming from the front.

The collision was so severe that the car was shattered and all the passengers were trapped inside it. The police who reached the spot had to take out the dead bodies and the injured by cutting the car with a cutter. After the accident, the traffic on the highway remained halted for an hour. The truck driver fled from the spot. The police have seized the truck and are investigating the matter.
