ED Nabs Former Haryana Congress MLA from Delhi Hotel in Money Laundering Probe

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Former Haryana Congress MLA Dharm Singh Choukkar has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate from a hotel in Delhi. He was absconding in a money laundering case of Rs 1500 crore. A few days ago, ED had confiscated Choukkar's property worth Rs 44.55 crore.


Big action by ED: Former Haryana Congress MLA arrested, caught from Delhi hotel in money laundering case: Sai Aina Farms Private Limited, a company run by Dharam Singh, his sons Sikandar and Vikas, had promised to provide houses under the affordable housing scheme in Sector 68, 103 and 104 of Gurugram. Rs 616.41 crore was collected through these projects, but the buyers neither got the houses nor the money was returned.


Investigation revealed that this money was spent on expensive weddings, fake construction expenses and jewellery. Gurugram police had also registered an FIR in this case. Now ED has arrested Choukkar and started questioning him
