Eknath Shinde Snaps at Question on Uddhav-Raj Reconciliation: ‘Talk About Work’
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The heat in Maharashtra politics is clearly visible. The news of reconciliation between Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray, who have been living separately after 19 years, has created a lot of stir. At the same time, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde got angry when asked for a reaction on the speculations of reconciliation between them. He told the media to talk about the work of the government.
According to the information, Shinde was in his native village Dare in Satara district, when a reporter asked him for a reaction on the discussion of reconciliation between Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena president Raj Thackeray. After which Shinde got irritated and ignored the reporter. The Shiv Sena leader said, "Let's talk about work." Raj Thackeray said in an interview to filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar that he had no problem working with Uddhav in the undivided Shiv Sena. After this statement, speculation of reconciliation started.
Raj Thackeray said the question is whether Uddhav wants to work with him. His statements, fuelling speculation of a possible reconciliation between Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray, indicate that they may overlook "minor issues" and join hands after nearly two decades of bitter differences. While the MNS chief has said that it is not difficult to unite in the interest of 'Marathi Manush', former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray said he is ready to forget petty fights provided those working against the interests of Maharashtra are not given preference. Uddhav was possibly referring to Raj Thackeray hosting Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at his residence recently. Without naming his cousin, Uddhav Thackeray had said that nothing would be gained by helping 'thieves'. His clear reference was to the BJP and the Shinde-led Shiv Sena. In the year 2022, Uddhav Thackeray suffered a major setback when Eknath Shinde broke away from the Shiv Sena and brought down his government. After this, Shinde formed the government with the support of the BJP.
