Major FBI-India Joint Operation: FBI’s Most Wanted Mother Arrested in India for Murdering Her 6-Year-Old Son
New Delhi/Washington (The Uttam Hindu): In a major breakthrough, one of the FBI’s top 10 most wanted fugitives, Cindy Rodriguez Singh, has been arrested in India. Cindy, accused of brutally murdering her own 6-year-old son, was living in India under a concealed identity.
She was caught in a joint operation between the FBI and Indian police, and is now being extradited to the U.S., where she will face trial in Texas. FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the arrest through a social media post, calling it a “big success.” He revealed that Cindy was accused of murdering her son in March 2023 in Everman, Texas. The case came to light when the boy went missing for several days. During police questioning, Cindy allegedly misled investigators with false statements before fleeing the country.
After intensive investigation, police registered a murder case against her in October 2023, and by November 2023, a U.S. court had issued a warrant for her arrest. The FBI also announced a $25,000 reward (₹21 lakh) for information leading to her capture.
Cindy, of Mexican and Indian origin, was finally tracked down in India with the support of Interpol and Indian authorities. Following a coordinated operation, she was taken into custody. Expressing gratitude, FBI Director Patel thanked the Indian police and administration for their cooperation. He also highlighted that in the last seven months, the FBI has successfully arrested four fugitives from its top 10 list. Cindy is now being extradited to Texas, where she will be handed over to local authorities.
