Google Chrome Gets AI-Powered ‘Gemini Nano’ Security Shield to Block Scam Sites
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): If you use Google Chrome browser, then there is a good news for you. Google Chrome has announced to bring a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) feature to further strengthen the security of its users. This new feature will help protect users from online scams and suspicious websites.
This new AI feature will work like a 'security guard'. If the user tries to visit a potentially fraudulent or wrong website, he will get an alert in advance. This feature has been added to version 137 of the Chrome browser and is expected to be rolled out to users in the beta version in the coming days.
What is Gemini Nano?
This new feature will be known as Gemini Nano. According to Google, Gemini Nano is specially designed to increase the online security of internet users. It will help alert users about fake and fraudulent websites, thereby eliminating the fear associated with clicking on a website while searching the internet.
This is how the 'security guard' will work:
Whenever you try to visit a suspicious website, the Gemini Nano feature will give you a 'full page warning'. This means that a full page with a warning will open on your screen, which will clearly tell you that you are visiting a suspicious or fake website. After this warning, you will be able to decide for yourself whether to proceed further on that website or return safely.
How to activate the feature:
To use this new security feature on your laptop or PC, you have to go to Chrome's settings. In the settings, you will see the option of 'Enhanced Protection'. As soon as you turn on this option, an additional security layer will be added to your browser. If you have not received this feature yet, then wait for a few days. Soon this feature will start becoming available to all users.
