Great News for CBSE Students: Board Exams to be Held Twice a Year, Draft Policy Soon

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct board examinations twice a year from the 2026-27 academic session. Along with this, CBSE will also introduce a global curriculum.

According to the information, its draft will be released, on which suggestions will be sought from the people. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will start global curriculum for foreign students from the 2026-27 academic session. This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. In this high-level meeting, which included officials and representatives of CBSE Global Schools. Pradhan discussed the plans and steps required to develop and implement the new curriculum. Earlier on February 18, the Education Minister had announced that the draft plan to conduct board examinations twice a year would soon be shared with the public. He emphasized the government's objective of creating a stress-free learning environment for the students and said that examination reform is an important step towards achieving this goal. The Education Minister said that I had detailed discussions with the School Education Secretary, CBSE Chairman and other officials of the Ministry and CBSE on conducting CBSE examinations twice a year. The draft plan prepared from these discussions will soon be put up for public consultation by the CBSE. CBSE 10th and 12th board exams are starting from February 15, which will end on April 4. The Central Board of Secondary Education had recently issued a notice regarding the spread of rumors like paper leak against the exam.
