Husband lifts bride’s veil on wedding night, shocking news breaks three days later
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) - A 26-year-old groom in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, mysteriously disappeared on his wedding night, prompting a three-day search by family and police. CCTV footage of him wandering late at night near the Ganges Canal further fueled suspicions that he might have committed suicide.
But an unexpected call on Monday changed the situation—the groom was found safe in Haridwar. In fact, Mohsin, alias Monu, a resident of Unchapur in Sardhana, left home on the night of November 27th, saying he had to buy a bulb. He never returned. The family filed a missing person's report, and the police immediately launched a search. Despite three days of searching along the canal and scanning nearby CCTV footage, Mohsin was nowhere to be found. The family feared he might have jumped into the canal.
A sudden call—and the story changed.
Using a passerby's phone from Haridwar, Mohsin called his father and told him that he was safe and wanted to return home. Upon receiving the information, Meerut police left for Haridwar with the family. According to Sardhana SHO Dinesh Pratap Singh, Mohsin was found wandering near the railway station. During interrogation, he told that he felt nervous on the first night of his marriage and without thinking, he boarded a bus to Haridwar. He stayed around the station for three days.
