India Bans All Postal and Parcel Services with Pakistan, Bars Pakistani Ships from Entering Indian Ports

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Indian government has taken another important step against Pakistan and has suspended the exchange of all types of postal and parcel services coming from the neighboring country with immediate effect. This ban will apply to both air and land routes. India has taken several tough decisions against Pakistan today, including a complete ban on all types of imports from Pakistan and a ban on the entry of Pakistani-flagged ships into Indian ports.

A public notice has been issued by the Postal Department in this regard. The notice says, "The Government of India has decided to suspend the exchange of all categories of mail and parcels originating from Pakistan through air and land routes."

The exchange of postal services between India and Pakistan was already continuing at a limited level. However, after the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019, Pakistan had suspended these services for some time, which was later restored after three months. But now, given the current tense situation between the two countries, the Indian government has decided to completely stop all postal and parcel services.

This suspension will have a direct impact on the exchange of personal correspondence, business documents and personal parcels between the two countries, which will come to a complete halt. Experts believe that this move can create problems for those who have family or business relations in both the countries and depend on postal services. Apart from this, this move can also have an indirect impact on Pakistan's economy, as some goods were also imported from India through postal services.
