New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Foreign Ministry said on Saturday evening that a ceasefire has been established between India and Pakistan. Foreign Ministry spokesman Vikram Misri said that a ceasefire has been implemented between the two countries from 5 pm. Vikram Misri said that Pakistan's DGMO had talked on the phone on Saturday afternoon. He said that India has done a ceasefire on its own terms and the DGMOs of both countries will talk again on May 12.
Along with this, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said on the social media platform X that India and Pakistan have agreed to stop firing and military action today. He said that India has consistently taken a firm and unwavering stand against all forms and manifestations of terrorism and will continue to do so.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump and Foreign Minister Marco Rubio announced a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. President Donald Trump has claimed that India and Pakistan have agreed for an immediate and complete ceasefire on the conflict that has been going on for the last three days. This agreement has been reached with the mediation of America.
US President Donald Trump wrote in a post on his social media platform Truth, "After a long night of talks mediated by the US, I am happy to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a complete and immediate ceasefire." Trump thanked both countries for showing understanding.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also said on X that he and US Vice President JD Vance had been talking to senior officials of India and Pakistan for the last 48 hours. The talks included Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Army Chief Asim Munir and Pak NSS Asim Malik.
Earlier, the Indian government took a big decision regarding the ongoing fight against terrorism. Giving a strict message, the government said that any terrorist incident in the future will be considered an act of war against India.
