Indian Army's Major Operation on India-Myanmar Border: 10 Militants Eliminated in Fierce Encounter

Imphal (The Uttam Hindu): Ten militants were killed in an encounter with Assam Rifles troops in Manipur's Chandel district near the India-Myanmar border, the Indian Army said on Wednesday night.

Acting on specific intelligence about movement of armed cadres of an insurgent group near New Samtal village under Khengjoy tehsil, an Assam Rifles unit under the Spear Corps launched an operation on Wednesday, the Indian Army's Eastern Command said in a post on social media platform X.

The army said, "During the operation, the soldiers were fired upon by suspected cadres, following which the soldiers retaliated. 10 militants were killed in the firing. A large quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered.
