Go Digital, Save 5%: Jammu Smart City's New E-Bus Fare Offer

Srinagar (The Uttam Hindu): If you plan to travel Jammu and Kashmir in bus, there is a good news for you. Jammu Smart City has introduced a 5% discount on e-bus fares for passengers who pay through mobile phones in a bid to promote digital payments and make travel more convenient.

Key Highlights:

1. Discount: 5% discount on e-bus fares for digital payments

2. Payment Methods: QR code scanning, Paz machine  or Chalo app

3. No Discount on Cash Payments: Passengers paying in cash will not be eligible for the discount

4. Women's Free Travel: Women can still travel for free in e-buses

5. Number of Buses: 95 e-buses are currently operational in Jammu division, with 5 reserved buses

Benefits:

The discount is expected to encourage more people to use digital payment methods, promoting a cashless economy and reducing the risk of cash handling. The Chalo app, which has a live tracking system, will continue to provide passengers with real-time information about bus arrival times.

Future Plans:

There are plans to introduce 100 more e-buses in Jammu division, further expanding the city's electric transportation network.
