Monsoon Enters 17 States in the Country: Heavy Rainfall Predicted, Alert Issued in Many States
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) : The much awaited monsoon has arrived and people are getting relief from the heat. Monsoon has entered 17 states of the country. Today, rain started in Chhattisgarh and Odisha. In Chhattisgarh, the rainfall in May is almost 6 times more than the normal rainfall. Normally, it rains only between 430 to 450 mm in May. With the arrival of monsoon in Maharashtra, flood -like conditions have arisen in many districts, in the month of May. People were rescued from their homes in Ahilya Nagar.
The Meteorological Department has predicted 106% more rainfall than the average in the year 2025. There may be 108% rainfall in the month of June. It is raining heavily in Mumbai on Wednesday. Heavy rain is also continuing in Thane. Here, heavy rain occurred in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana till May 30. Strong winds with a speed of 50-70 km/h may also blow at some places in these states. Especially in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, a warning of thunderstorms and strong winds along with extremely heavy rainfall has been issued on May 27.
