NIA Investigation Exposes Pakistan's Role: Terrorists Contacted ISI Before Pahalgam Attack

Update: 2025-05-02 09:11 GMT

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The security and investigation agencies are working tirelessly to capture the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam massacre alive, in a bid to expose the conspiracy behind the attack and the role of Pakistan. The investigation has revealed that the terrorists had contacted their handlers in Pakistan before and after the attack.

Evidence Points to Lashkar-e-Taiba's Involvement

Based on the evidence gathered so far, security agencies believe that the attack was carried out by Lashkar-e-Taiba at the behest of the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. Five terrorists have been identified, including three Pakistanis and two locals, Adil and Ehsan Sheikh, whose houses have been demolished by security agencies.

Terrorists Hiding in Dense Forests and Caves

The terrorists are believed to be hiding in the dense forests and natural caves of Anantnag district, where their masters have prepared safe hideouts with stored rations for at least 15-20 days. Security forces have launched a search operation in the forests and mountains of Pahalgam, Baisaran and adjoining areas.

Investigation Unfolds

The investigation agencies have assessed the evidence, eyewitness statements, and information gathered from interrogation of suspects and arrested overground workers. The NIA has inspected the massacre site four times, conducted 3D mapping, and sent 60 cartridges for forensic examination. Over 2600 suspects have been questioned, and around 188 people are still in custody for interrogation.

Key Aides of Terrorists Being Interrogated

Two terrorist overground workers, Nisar Ahmed and Mushtaq Hussain, are being interrogated. They had provided safe hideouts, arranged weapons, and worked as guides for the terrorists involved in the attack on the army team in Poonch last year.

Security Agencies Suspect Same Group Behind Multiple Attacks

The investigation agencies suspect that the terrorists who carried out the Pahalgam massacre and the terrorists who attacked the army parties in Rajouri-Poonch might be the same group or have emerged from the same terrorist camp in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
