Pakistan Breaches Ceasefire Within Hours: Unprovoked Firing in Akhnoor Raises Tensions

Akhnoor (The Uttam Hindu): Ceasefire has come into effect between India and Pakistan from 5 pm. About 3 hours later, Pakistan carried out heavy firing and explosions in Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir. BSF soldiers are responding to this firing. Although there is no news of any loss of life or property, the firing has created panic among the people living in the border areas.


The Foreign Ministry said that India has agreed to ceasefire on its own terms. The suspension of Indus Water Treaty will continue during the ceasefire. Sources in the Foreign Ministry said that after Pakistan contacted India, an agreement has been reached between India and Pakistan. There are no pre-conditions or post-conditions in this. Indus Water Treaty is suspended. All other measures are suspended. India's position on terrorism remains the same.
