New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) : In a shocking incident, a small private plane collided with a car while making an emergency landing on a highway in the US state of Florida. The accident occurred on I-95 near Merritt Island, and a video of the incident is rapidly going viral on social media.

Technical fault during flight, both engines started shutting down

According to reports, the crashed plane was a Beechcraft 55 model. Shortly after takeoff, it suddenly developed a technical fault. Both engines started losing power, after which the 27-year-old pilot was forced to land on a highway. Due to traffic on the highway, the plane lost control and collided with a Toyota Camry while landing.

The dashcam of a car following behind captured the horrific scene. The footage shows the plane descending rapidly and getting badly damaged after hitting a car on the highway. Brevard County Fire Rescue said the plane was attempting an emergency landing near the 201 mile marker of I-95. But it lost balance, hit the car and crashed on the road. After the incident, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched an investigation into the technical fault and the pilot's emergency action.
