PMO Team Arrives in Ahmedabad to Review Air India Plane Crash, to Meet CM and DGP

Ahmedabad (The Uttam Hindu): After the horrific plane crash in Ahmedabad, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has started taking swift action. A high-level team of the PMO led by the Prime Minister's Principal Secretary PK Mishra has reached Ahmedabad. This team will stay in Gujarat for the next two days and monitor the relief, rescue and investigation operations.

According to the information, the PMO team will hold important meetings with the Chief Minister, Director General of Police (DGP) and Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the Home Department. In these meetings, special attention will be given to post-disaster coordination and relief efforts.

The central government is taking this incident very seriously and that is why the government has formed a high-level committee to investigate this accident thoroughly. This committee will find out the causes of the accident and submit its report to the government. The committee will visit the accident site and talk to all the concerned persons including the crew members of the aircraft, air traffic controllers and rescue teams.

It is worth noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself visited the accident site on the morning of 13 June. He visited the accident site and took stock of the situation and later also met the injured admitted in the hospital. During this time, many senior officials including Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel were present with him. 270 people lost their lives in this tragic accident.

After the accident, Prime Minister Modi had expressed deep condolences and said that the tragedy in Ahmedabad is shocking and sad. He had expressed his condolences to the affected families in this difficult time.

Let us tell you that Air India's Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft (AI-171) was flying from Ahmedabad to London. Just 59 seconds after take-off, this aircraft crashed in Meghaninagar area. There were a total of 242 people on board the aircraft, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members. Everyone except one passenger died in this accident.
