PSEB Class 12 Results: 91% Pass Rate; Harsirat Kaur Tops with Perfect Score
Mohali (Uttam Hindu News): Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has announced the results of class 12 today. This year a total of 91 percent students have passed the examination. Once again girls have outperformed in the results, whose pass percentage was better than boys.
This year's total pass percentage has been 2% less than last year. A total of 2,65,388 students appeared in the exam. Out of these, 17,844 students have got compartment, while 5,950 students have failed. Apart from this, the results of 88 students have been withheld for some reason.
Talking about gender-wise pass percentage, the pass percentage of girls was 94.32 percent, while this figure was 88.08 percent among boys. If we look at the region-wise pass percentage, the pass percentage of rural areas was 91.20, which is slightly better than the 90.74 percent of urban areas.
Girls have secured the top three positions in the examination. Harsirat Kaur of Barnala has topped the state by securing full 500 marks out of 500. Harsirat is a student of Sarvhitkari Senior Secondary Vidya Mandir, Barnala. Her father is a teacher in a government school in Barnala itself.
Manveer Kaur of Kassoana in Ferozepur district has secured second position by scoring 498 marks out of 500 (99.6%). She is a student of SS Memorial Senior Public School Kassoana. Arsh, a student of Shri Tara Chand Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Tikhi, in Mansa district, also secured the third position by scoring 498 marks out of 500.
