Punjab Sealed Off: Operation Sindoor Sparks Statewide Alert
Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): After India's air strike on 9 terrorist camps in Pakistan and PoK under 'Operation Sindoor', a high alert has been issued in Punjab. All schools have been closed in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Fazilka and Ferozepur districts till further orders. Kartarpur corridor has also been closed for security reasons.
Alert in Punjab after Operation Sindoor: Schools closed in 5 districts, CM Mann's programs cancelled, Amritsar-Chandigarh airports closed : All programs of CM Bhagwant Mann and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's Punjab tour today have been cancelled. Amritsar airport will remain closed till May 10, while Chandigarh airport has been closed till further orders.
CM Bhagwant Mann said on Twitter, "The whole country is united in this fight against terrorism. We are proud of our Indian Army and brave soldiers." Cabinet Minister Aman Arora said, "All government programs have been canceled for the time being. The people of Punjab are appealed to follow the government's advisory. The whole of Punjab stands with the army." Along with the appeal of the leaders, the administration has given instructions to exercise extra caution in the border areas.
