Tragedy in Udaipur: Car Plunges into Drain Amid Rajasthan Flood Chaos, 2 Dead, 1 Missing
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A major accident occurred late Monday night in Udaipur, Rajasthan. In the Kherwara area, a car lost control and plunged into a drain. Five people were in the car; two were rescued safely, while three went missing. According to Kherwara SHO Dalpat Singh, during the rescue operation, the bodies of two missing persons were recovered late at night, while one individual is still untraced. Search efforts are ongoing.
Rajasthan has been witnessing heavy rainfall for the past four days, throwing life into chaos. Several districts are submerged, and rivers and streams are overflowing. Sawai Madhopur, Kota, Bundi, Tonk, Dausa, Udaipur, Jhalawar, and Sikar are among the worst affected areas. On Monday, schools in 18 districts were forced to shut down, and examinations at Kota University were postponed.
Authorities have evacuated more than 300 people to safer locations in Sawai Madhopur and Kota. Flood-like situations in many villages and towns have worsened the hardships for residents.
