Shock for Ayushman Card Holders! Private Hospitals to Stop Treatment for These Diseases
Haryana(The Uttam Hindu): Attention Ayushman card holders! There's some significant news coming out of Haryana. Unfortunately, treatment and surgeries for five specific illnesses under the Ayushman Bharat scheme will no longer be available at private hospitals. The conditions affected are:
- Cataract surgery
- Uterus surgery (hysterectomy)
- Gallbladder surgery via laparoscopy
- Treatment for vomiting and diarrhea
- Treatment for asthma and respiratory diseases
Now, if you hold an Ayushman Bharat card, you'll need to seek treatment for these five conditions exclusively at government hospitals, as private facilities will no longer offer these services under the scheme.
Moreover, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has pointed out that instead of ensuring timely payments to private hospitals for treating Ayushman card patients, the health department has opted to cut coverage for these five common illnesses altogether.
