Spy Jyoti Disclosed Secrets: Traveled to Pakistan Before Pahalgam Attack; 'Jat Randhawa' Connection Surfaces

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) : Jyoti Malhotra, a resident of Hisar in Haryana, has been arrested on charges of spying for Pakistan. Hisar Superintendent of Police (SP) Shashank Kumar Sawan shared new information in the case on Sunday. He said, 'PIOs are trying to recruit some social media influencers. We had received input from central agencies and we arrested Jyoti Malhotra, a resident of Hisar. She was in contact with PIOs. She has visited Pakistan several times and China once. We have taken her on 5-day police remand. She is being interrogated. We are analyzing her financial details. She was in contact with PIOs during the conflict (India-Pakistan).'

Jyoti was in the list of suspects after Operation Sindoor

Jyoti, who had visited Pakistan thrice, was included in the list of suspects by the central investigation agency IB after the Pahalgam terror incident and Operation Sindoor. Jyoti's mobile phone and social media accounts were being traced after receiving inputs of sharing the country's intelligence information.

Shakir's number saved as Jat Randhawa

DSP said that so that no one comes to know, Jyoti saved Shakir's phone number as Jat Randhawa in her mobile. After coming to India, she started staying in touch with Shakir and others through Whatsapp, Snap Chat, Telegram and started sending anti-national information to them. The Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India has declared Danish wanted on charges of espionage.

The SP said Jyoti Malhotra was being groomed as an asset. She was in touch with other YouTube influencers and PIOs. "Jyoti used to go to Pakistan on sponsored trips. She was in Pakistan before the Pahalgam attack. Investigation is on to establish any connection, if any. We are also investigating this as we have clues that other people were also involved with her," he said. There are videos on social media in which she is seeking a visa to go to China, he said. During a war-like situation, there are many details that you may find very small but they should not be shared.
