Stock Market Slump: Investors Lose Whopping ₹4.5 Lakh Crore in 2 Days

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The stock market is witnessing fluctuations these days, which investors are calling a 'game of snakes and ladders'. Similar volatility was seen in the market on Monday and Tuesday, due to which investors had to suffer huge losses.

On Monday, at one point during trading, the Sensex was seeing a gain of more than 1000 points, but later the market fell and finally closed with a gain of  400 points. During this period, investors suffered a loss of Rs 3,41,228.5 crore.

On Tuesday too, the market started with a decline, but after 11 am it gained momentum again and the Sensex reached the positive zone. However, this rise did not last long and after 12 noon the market started declining again. By 2:20 pm, the Sensex had fallen by more than 1000 points. Later there was a slight recovery, but the market closed with a decline of 624 points. On Tuesday, investors suffered a loss of Rs 1,14,214.18 crore.

In this way, investors have lost a total of about Rs 4.5 lakh crore due to heavy volatility in the stock market in the last two trading sessions. According to BSE data, the market cap was Rs 4,44,79,680.04 crore at the market close on Monday, which came down to Rs 4,43,65,465.86 crore after the market closed on Tuesday.
