Patna (The Uttam Hindu): In a significant development within the Sikh community, the Panj Pyare Singh Sahibs of Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib issued a Hukamnama today, declaring self-appointed Jathedars Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj and Giani Tek Singh as "Tanghahiya" (excommunicated) for undermining the authority and traditions of the Takht.

The Panj Pyare's decision follows the issuance of a Hukamnama by Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj and Giani Tek Singh, who have been rejected by the Panth, challenging the constitution and by-laws of Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib. The Panj Pyare deemed their actions as politically motivated and in violation of the Takht's established authority.

Furthermore, the Panj Pyare have ordered S. Sukhbir Singh Badal to appear before them within 10 days to explain his involvement in this matter. Failure to comply will result in strict action as per Panthic tradition.

The Panj Pyare have also directed all office bearers and members of the Administrative Board of the Managing Committee of Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib to refrain from following the resolutions issued by the self-appointed Jathedars. The Hukamnama issued by the Panj Pyare on May 21, 2025, supersedes any conflicting orders and must be adhered to.

This action reaffirms the commitment of Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib to uphold the sanctity of Sikh traditions and the authority of the Panthic institutions. The Sikh community is urged to remain united and adhere to the directives issued by the duly appointed Panj Pyare Singh Sahibs to maintain the integrity and unity of the Panth.
