Techie's life cut short: Pothole claims Priyanka's life in Bengaluru bike crash
Bengaluru (The Uttam Hindu): A horrific accident occurred in Bengaluru Rural district on Saturday morning. A female techie tragically died while trying to avoid a pothole near the APMC on the Madanayakanahalli-Huskur Road. The accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. when she fell off her bike and was run over by a canter truck.
According to police, the deceased, identified as Priyanka, was riding a bike with her brother when the accident occurred. The road was damaged due to construction work. When her brother tried to swerve the bike to avoid a large pothole, they lost control and both fell onto the road.
Eyewitnesses said Priyanka's brother was driving the bike, and she was riding pillion. She was also wearing a helmet. Shortly after leaving home, they both fell as they tried to avoid a bad patch of road. Priyanka's brother, who was driving the bike, survived, but Priyanka was hit by a canter truck and died on the spot.
Upon receiving information about the accident, Madanayakanahalli police visited the scene and registered a case. The body was sent to Nelamangala Government Hospital for an autopsy.
Police said that Priyanka's brother's statement has not yet been recorded to determine the exact cause of the accident, as he is currently unable to speak. Police said they will investigate further and only after recording his statement will the full extent of the accident be fully understood.
