Argentina (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident has emerged from Argentina, one that feels like something straight out of a movie. A family was performing the last rites of their 22-year-old son when he arrived and declared, "I'm alive!" The family was overjoyed to see their son alive, while the mourners and police were stunned. The biggest question was: if the son was alive, whose body was in the coffin?

According to the Mirror, the entire confusion began last Thursday (September 18), when a young man was crushed to death by a sugarcane truck. The next day, a woman went to the police station and identified the body as her 22-year-old son based on his clothing and some physical marks. After confirming the identity, the police handed over the body to the family.

As the family prepared for the funeral at home, and relatives and neighbors gathered to mourn, the woman's son suddenly returned home. He told the astonished crowd that he was not dead. Those who had been emotionally bidding him farewell were stunned by his unexpected return.

During interrogation, the son told that he was away from home for several days, drinking alcohol with friends at a place called Alderets, and he had no idea that the news of his death had spread at home.

Following the incident, police took the body back to the morgue and began investigating its identity. It was later revealed that the deceased was 28-year-old Maximiliano Enrique Acosta from a nearby town. But the story's utter disgrace didn't end there. When police informed Maximiliano's family of his death, they were also reportedly shown someone else's body first.

Hernan, the deceased's brother, angrily retorted, "Everything was wrong from the start. First, they misidentified the body and gave it to someone else, then they sent us to the morgue twice." Finally, after the correct identification, Maximiliano's body was returned to his family, and he was cremated on Tuesday (September 23). The Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an internal investigation to look into these serious lapses.
