Palghar (The Uttam Hindu): In a horrifying incident, a mother allegedly beat her seven-year-old son to death with a rolling pin and also fatally attacked her ten-year-old daughter. The initial motive for this brutal attack is said to be the son's request for chicken. Police have arrested the accused mother and launched an investigation into the case.

District Superintendent of Police Yatish Deshmukh told a news agency that the accused woman has been identified as 40-year-old Pallavi Dhumde. The deceased child has been identified as seven-year-old Chinmay Dhumde. His 10-year-old sister, who was seriously injured in the attack, is undergoing treatment at a local hospital and remains in critical condition.

According to police, they received a report of a child's death under suspicious circumstances in a flat in the Kashipada area. Teams from the local police station, the Local Crime Branch (LCB), and the sub-divisional officer arrived at the scene. Investigation revealed that Pallavi Dhumde brutally beat her son, Chinmay, with a chapati rolling pin, killing him on the spot. She then attacked her daughter with the same rolling pin, seriously injuring her.

Police are thoroughly investigating the motive behind this brutal attack. "Initial reports suggest that the mother lost her temper when her son insisted on eating chicken and took this fatal step," an official said.

The police have registered an FIR against the accused woman under Section 103(1) (murder) and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and are conducting further investigation.
