Solapur (The Uttam Hindu): A massive fire has broken out in Central Industry located in MIDC, Solapur at around 3 o'clock in the night. The blaze resulted in the tragic deaths of 8 individuals, including factory workers and family members of the owner.

The victims have been identified as Mehtab Bagwan, Asha Bagwan, Salman Bagwan and factory owner Haji Usman Mansuri. Reports indicate that Haji Usman Mansuri, along with his son Anas Mansuri and other family members, were trapped inside the factory during the fire. A distressing phone call was made around 5:30 a.m. from the Mansuris, who were reportedly confined to a bathroom and urgently sought assistance. Tragically, they did not survive the ordeal.

The fire broke out around 3:00 a.m. and rapidly engulfed the factory premises. Firefighters from the Solapur Municipal Corporation were promptly dispatched to the scene and worked tirelessly to control the blaze. Despite their efforts, the fire remained uncontrollable for several hours.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by a gas leak from an LPG cylinder used for cooking by the workers. The explosion ignited nearby combustible materials, leading to the rapid spread of the fire. The factory, which also served as accommodation for some workers, was severely damaged.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident to determine the exact cause of the fire and to assess compliance with fire safety regulations. The tragic event has raised concerns about industrial safety standards and the need for stringent enforcement of safety protocols in manufacturing units. The local community has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and has extended condolences to the bereaved families. The incident underscores the critical importance of fire safety measures and the need for regular inspections to prevent such tragedies in the future.
