New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu):#USIndiaRelations, #Modi, #AntiTerrorSupport, #AmericaWithIndia, #GlobalTerrorism, #USIndiaTies, #PMModi, #CounterTerrorism, #DiplomaticSupport, #TerrorismResponse After the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, India has received strong support from the international community. Many powerful countries of the world have expressed their support in India's fight against terrorism. In this connection, America has once again reiterated its commitment to India and has announced full support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce issued this latest statement during a press conference. She said that in view of the tension created after the Pahalgam attack, America is in constant touch with both India and Pakistan.

Bruce said, "We are closely monitoring the situation. The US Secretary of State has spoken to India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif." He further said that President Donald Trump had spoken to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on phone last week and made it clear that America stands firmly with India in the fight against terrorism. Bruce said that Prime Minister Modi has the full support of America.

He said that the US Secretary of State has urged both the countries to resolve this issue responsibly so that long-term peace and regional stability can be maintained in South Asia. Bruce said that the US is in touch with the governments of both the countries at many levels.

When asked if the US appeal to de-escalate tensions was being heeded, Bruce replied that the US was expecting a responsible solution from both sides.

It is worth noting that this statement of America has come amid increasing incidents of ceasefire violations by Pakistan on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. India has taken several steps against Pakistan in response to its continued support to cross-border terrorism, including decisions such as reconsidering some aspects related to the Indus Water Treaty, changes in the operation of the Integrated Check Post (ICP) at the Attari border and reducing the level of diplomatic relations.
