Farm Water Dispute Turns Violent in Rohtak: Two Brothers Shot, Attacker Injured
Rohtak (The Uttam Hindu): A major incident has come to light from Haryana's Rohtak district where a neighbour shot two brothers in a heated arguement over farm water distribution. Vinod, a resident of Bahu Akbarpur village reportedly shot Ajay and Rakesh in a voilent altercation. In retaliation, Vinod was struck with a sickle. The brothers were admitted to the trauma center in PGI Rohtak and are said to have sustained serious injuries.
The incident occurred late Monday night, with both parties reportedly involved in a longstanding disagreement over water usage for irrigation purposes. The police arrived promptly at the scene, taking control of the situation. Vinod was apprehended and has been sent for medical treatment.
The Bahu Akbarpur village, located approximately 10 km from Rohtak city, has witnessed several water-related disputes in recent times. The local administration has been urged to address the underlying issues contributing to such conflicts.
The police are continuing their investigation into the matter, aiming to bring all responsible parties to justice.
