New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): After the Pahalgam terrorist attack, tension between India and Pakistan has reached its peak. On one hand, after the death of 26 innocent people in India, the public is demanding strict action against Pakistan, while on the other hand, the leaders of Pakistan are issuing threatening statements in panic.

In an offensive statement on Friday , Pakistan 's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that if India tries to stop Pakistan's water by building a dam on the Indus river, it would be considered an act of war and Pakistan would attack India. He claimed that such a move would be a violation of the Indus Water Treaty. It is worth noting that after the Pahalgam attack, the Indian government had warned of reviewing and possibly cancelling the Indus Water Treaty. Since then, there has been a stir in Pakistan. In view of this attitude of India, Pakistan has kept its army on alert.

Khawaja Asif accused India of making baseless allegations against Pakistan regarding the Pahalgam attack. He said that till now India has not been able to present any concrete evidence which proves that Pakistan has a hand in the attack. According to analysts, this aggressive rhetoric of Pakistan is actually an attempt to hide their fear of possible action by India. The army and the government fear that India can take a big step at any time, so internal fear is being covered up through such statements on public forums.
