Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): Troubles continue to mount for Anil Ambani. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) seized Ambani's luxurious Mumbai home, "Abode," on Wednesday in connection with a money laundering case.

Ambani's bungalow is located in the posh Pali Hill area of Mumbai and is considered one of India's most expensive residential complexes. The 66-meter-tall building has 17 floors. According to government sources, the value of the seized property is estimated at approximately ₹3716.83 crore.

This action was taken in connection with an alleged bank fraud case involving Reliance Communications (RCOM). The ED attached the multi-story building by issuing a provisional order under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The agency alleges that the company defrauded banks and used the proceeds for money laundering. With the latest order, the total value of properties seized in this case has reached approximately ₹15,700 crore.

Anil Ambani, 66, is expected to appear before the investigating agency again soon. He previously appeared before the ED in August 2025, where his detailed statement was recorded under the PMLA.

Reliance Communications has long been grappling with debt woes and court proceedings. For Anil Ambani, once one of the country's leading industrialists, the seizure of his residence is considered a major personal and professional blow.
