New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A report in a leading British newspaper said that the imposition of tariffs on India by US President Donald Trump is "unfair and impractical". And now India is also preparing to give a befitting reply to Trump.

Information has emerged that the government is considering imposing tariffs on select American products in the same proportion as the loss suffered by Indian exporters. If this step is taken, it will be India's first formal response to President Donald Trump's tariff policy. The Indian government can impose tariffs up to 50% on American goods. According to sources, the retaliatory tariff will be imposed on a limited set of American goods. These goods will be selected in such a way that the revenue from the tariff is equal to the loss suffered by Indian exporters due to America's move.

Officials say that on the one hand America is talking about a bilateral trade agreement, but on the other hand it is taking unilateral steps against Indian economic interests, to which India has the right to respond. Let us tell you that US President Trump had recently announced to impose a 50 percent tariff on India.
