LPG cylinder rates hike by ₹49 ahead of Union budget 2026, check more details
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Just before the Union Budget, the common man has been hit with another blow of inflation. Oil marketing companies have increased the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders. The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by ₹49, effective February 1. However, in a relief for domestic consumers, the price of a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder has remained unchanged.

This increase is expected to have a direct impact on hotels, restaurants, dhabas and other commercial establishments. In Delhi, a 19 kg commercial cylinder will now be available for Rs 1,740.50 instead of Rs 1,691.50. In Kolkata, its price has increased from Rs 1,795 to Rs 1,844.50. In Mumbai, the price of commercial cylinder has increased from Rs 1,642.50 to Rs 1,692, while in Chennai, it will be available for Rs 1,899.50 instead of Rs 1,849.50.
There is currently no change in the price of a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder for domestic use. The last price revision in this category was on April 8, 2025. Currently, a domestic LPG cylinder is available for ₹853 in Delhi, ₹879 in Kolkata, ₹852.50 in Mumbai, ₹868.50 in Chennai, ₹890.50 in Lucknow, ₹860 in Ahmedabad, and ₹905 in Hyderabad.
