Silver jumps by ₹3,500, gold climbs to ₹1.54 lakh; check today’s price update

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Gold and silver prices recorded a sharp rise on Friday, bringing relief to bullion investors and traders. Silver surged by ₹3,580 to reach ₹2.41 lakh per kilogram, while gold became costlier by ₹2,090 and touched ₹1.54 lakh per 10 grams.

In early trade on the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold prices slipped from the previous close of ₹6,074 to ₹1,52,681 per 10 grams. Silver also saw early pressure and dropped by ₹26,518 to trade at ₹2,36,500 per kilogram.

According to the All India Sarrafa Association, on Thursday, gold of 99.9% purity had declined by ₹400 to ₹1,60,900 per 10 grams. Silver prices remained unchanged at ₹2,68,500 per kilogram.

Meanwhile, buying interest was visible in the international market as well. On COMEX, silver prices witnessed value buying and rose to an intraday high of $77.045 per ounce, showing a gain of over 1.25% shortly after the opening bell.

In Asian markets, both gold and silver saw mild buying in early trade. COMEX gold was trading in the green near the $5,000 per ounce level, registering an intraday rise of around 1.10%.
