Tata Motors launches Punch EV facelift with 468 km range and premium features

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Ending a long wait for customers in the Indian automobile market, Tata Motors has finally launched its much-anticipated Punch EV Facelift. The starting ex-showroom price of this impressive micro-electric SUV is ₹9.69 lakh, while the top variant goes up to ₹12.59 lakh. For customer convenience, the company has also introduced the excellent option of "Battery-as-a-Service" (BaaS). Under this special plan, you can take home this SUV for a starting price of just ₹6.49 lakh, with a battery rental rate of ₹2.6 per kilometer. Available in various variants such as MR and LR, bookings for this car have already begun both online and at dealerships.

Equipped with premium interiors and state-of-the-art luxury features

The new Punch EV features significant design and interior changes, bringing it closer to Tata's premium cars. Inside, the car features a stunning 10-inch infotainment screen, a digital instrument cluster, and a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo. Furthermore, state-of-the-art features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, front ventilated seats, a cooled glovebox, automatic climate control, and a 360-degree camera make it exceptional. Touch-operated controls, rotary dials on the center console, and leatherette upholstery with dual-tone dashboard shades give the cabin a luxurious feel.

Powerful battery pack and superfast charging facility

Built on the 'Acti.ev' platform, this car comes with two powerful battery pack options. The larger 40kWh battery pack offers a maximum range of 468 kilometers according to ARAI, which translates to a comfortable range of around 355 kilometers in everyday use. A 30kWh battery pack is also available, offering a range of approximately 365 kilometers. For charging, the company offers three excellent options: a DC fast charger (CCS2), a 7.2kW wall box charger, and a 3.3kW home charger. With a DC fast charger, charging from 20 to 80 percent takes just 26 minutes, and the car can run for up to 135 kilometers in just 15 minutes. To win customer trust, the company is also offering a lifetime warranty on the battery.

Absolutely unmatched in terms of security

As always, Tata Motors has ensured passenger safety is taken care of in this new car. Safety features like six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, i-TPMS, and ISOFIX mounts are standard across all models. For improved stability and a comfortable driving experience, the Tata Punch EV facelift boasts an excellent ground clearance of 195 mm and a kerb weight of 1360 kg, making it safe and suitable for Indian roads.
