War impact! LPG booking rules change, some users will get cylinder after 35 days instead of 25
Government revises LPG booking rules—two-cylinder users must wait 35 days for refill, while Ujjwala scheme users face 45-day interval.
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Major changes have been made in LPG booking rules for consumers. Under the new guidelines, some customers will now have to wait longer than before to book a gas cylinder refill.
According to the new provision, consumers who have two cylinders under a single connection will now have to wait 35 days before booking the next refill. Earlier, this duration was 25 days. In this system, one cylinder will be in use, while the second will remain as a backup at home. However, new booking will only be allowed after completing the 35-day period.
The government believes that this change will help in better balancing the supply of gas and ensure timely distribution of LPG to all consumers. For users who have only one cylinder connection, there is no change in rules. They can continue to book a refill after 25 days as before. This provision provides relief to families who depend on a single cylinder without backup.
For beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the booking interval has been fixed at 45 days. This scheme is aimed at economically weaker sections, especially women, and its supply system is managed separately to ensure availability for all beneficiaries.
