New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): If you too are fond of ordering food online while sitting at home, then this news is going to have a direct impact on your pocket. The country's leading food delivery platform Zomato has once again increased the platform fees, shocking its customers. Now users will have to pay more than before for ordering food from the app. According to the report of Economic Times, along with Zomato, its biggest rival company Swiggy has also increased its charges.

Increase of Rs 2.40 per order

According to the latest information available on the Zomato app, the company has increased the platform fee charged to customers by ₹2.40 per order. Following this increase, Zomato's platform fee has risen from ₹12.50 to ₹14.90 per order on a pre-GST basis. The company last increased this fee in September 2025. Due to these ever-increasing additional charges, users' online food delivery bills are gradually becoming heavier.

Swiggy also gave a shock to the customers

Following Zomato's example, Swiggy has also increased the burden on its customers' pockets. Swiggy now charges a platform fee of ₹14.99 per order, including taxes, compared to ₹12.50 previously. Market trends have shown that these two major food delivery companies typically follow each other's strategies when it comes to fee changes. This is why users of both platforms are simultaneously facing the brunt of this inflation.
