BBMB observes Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, organizes Fit India Swachhta Freedom Run 6.0
Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu) : The Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), Chandigarh observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 31st October 2025 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. On this occasion, a Unity Pledge was administered by Er. Manoj Tripathi, Chairman, BBMB to all officers and officials, reaffirming their commitment to uphold the unity, integrity, and security of the najtion.
Following the pledge ceremony, BBMB organized the Fit India Swachhta Freedom Run 6.0 as part of the Swachh Bharat Swasth Bharat Campaign under the Fit India Movement, promoting both cleanliness and physical fitness. The run commenced from the BBMB Secretariat Building, Sector 19-B, Chandigarh, covering a distance of approximately 2 kilometres. More than 250 BBMB employees participated enthusiastically in the event.
During the run, participants also collected litter from the roadside in bin bags, which were later disposed of properly, reinforcing the message of cleanliness.
Addressing the gathering, Er. Manoj Tripathi, Chairman, BBMB highlighted the importance of unity, cleanliness, and physical fitness in building a strong and healthy nation. He urged all participants to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings and to adopt physical activity as a part of daily life for overall well-being.
