Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): The troubles of Gajpat Grewal, brother-in-law of senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, are showing no signs of abating. The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has taken a tough stand against Grewal and has issued a Lookout Notice (LOC). This action directly means that Grewal will no longer be able to leave the country and will be monitored at all airports. The Vigilance Bureau has taken this step due to concerns that Grewal will not cooperate with the investigation.

According to Vigilance officials, the investigating agency has been repeatedly summoning Gajpat Grewal to join the investigation for quite some time, but he has not responded to any notices. Despite repeated summons, he neither appeared before the investigating officers nor provided any documents or explanations. Given the persistent delays in the investigation and his evasive attitude, Vigilance feared that he might flee abroad to avoid legal action. Vigilance has taken this strict action to eliminate this possibility.

Gajpat Grewal's high-profile name has sparked a stir in Punjab's political circles. Because he is directly linked to former minister Bikram Singh Majithia, political pundits are also closely monitoring the matter. Sources say the Vigilance Department's action will not stop here, and the scope of the investigation may expand in the coming days. The Vigilance Department is now considering other legal options to include Grewal in the investigation, which could further escalate the matter in the coming days.
