Sukhbir Badal’s Threat to SSP Shows His Frustration: Dhaliwal

Kuldeep Dhaliwal to Sukhbir Badal: Respect the Democratic Verdict Instead of Intimidating Officials

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab has strongly condemned Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal for publicly threatening a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), saying that Sukhbir Badal still refuses to accept the reality that his government is gone and will never return.

Addressing a press conference at the party office on Saturday, MLA Kuldeep Dhaliwal said that by threatening government officials, Sukhbir Badal is expressing his frustration. “Perhaps he has forgotten how his government misused power during its tenure and looted Punjab’s resources,” Dhaliwal said.

He further said that during Sukhbir Badal’s rule, he ran several mafias including the sand mafia, land mafia, transport mafia, and cable mafia, which devastated Punjab. “The number of false cases registered under his government was unprecedented in history. No government has registered so many fake cases before,” Dhaliwal added. Mocking Sukhbir Badal, he said, “He fails to understand that the people of Punjab closed his chapter in 2022. He should now stop dreaming of returning to power.”

Dhaliwal reminded people that Punjabis have not forgotten the horrific incidents under the Akali Dal regime, how a young girl was thrown off a bus and killed in Moga, and how in Amritsar, a policeman trying to save a girl’s honour was killed by Badal’s goons.

Questioning Sukhbir Badal, Dhaliwal said, “When you were in power, police officers look very good to you. But the moment another government comes to power, the same officers suddenly are bad. Then you start carrying a diary around and intimidating officers. But let me tell you, today Punjab is ruled by law, and your threats will have no impact.”

Commenting on Sukhbir Badal’s desire to become Chief Minister, Dhaliwal reminded him that even when his father, the late Sardar Parkash Singh Badal, was CM, he never accepted the advice of several Akali leaders to make Sukhbir the Chief Minister. “If your own father knew you were not capable of this responsibility, how can the people of Punjab make such a mistake?” Dhaliwal asked.

Kuldeep Dhaliwal warned Sukhbir Badal not to try to intimidate officials with threats and instead respect the democratic verdict. “The people of Punjab have chosen an honest government, and there is no place for hooliganism or mafia rule here anymore,” he asserted.
